Cool Down After the Fight(Ryou)

[Akari Sohma]

Akari walked through the halls, smiling widely. She had just gotten back from gym, which she has fourth period. Now she was going to lunch. She was quite hungry, but still never ate much food. She never liked the school food. It never appealed to her. Plus, they never served just fish. It always had to be in a sandwich. She hated mixing food together. She refused to eat it, it made her sick. Well, unless it was like fries with ketchup or something, then it was okay, but otherwise no.

Akari entered the lunch room and shivered. It was a leek and broccoli day along with some meat that she didn't know nor wanted to know. she shivered at the thought of eating it. So instead she just bought some milk and went to an empty table. Putting her head in her palm, looking out the window in a dazed-like state. I want to go back outside.. So nice outside and we have to be locked up in this place.. This blows! It's worse than prison! Ugh! Maybe I should just sneak outside or fake being sick.. Then again, they'd find out I was faking.. Tried it one too many times.. Damn, they see right through me now.. She sighed and put her head down on the table, swishing around the small jug of milk she got. Her eyes began to droop though, for she suddenly began to get tired. Closing them, she listened to the sounds and conversations around her.

"Hey, you seen maria Sohma?" Said a male at the table next to her. This caught Akari's attention. "Yeah, who doesn't know her? The whole Sohma family is popular." Said another male. "She's real hot! Think I have a shot?" He said energetically. She smiled. Looks like she has some fans. Hope she doesn't get carried away.. "Aw, I don't know dude, she's quite popular and probably has a lot5 of guys coming onto her.. It'd be difficult and a miracle if she even noticed you.." He answered. Well he has a lot of confidence in his friend.. "You two talking about that Sohma girl? what was her name.. Marie.. Mary..?" Asked someone directly behind her. "You mean Maria Sohma?" "Yeah, her." "Then yeah, it's her. Why?" "Dude, she looks like a poser..." He said. Akari's eyes popped open as fury began to flood her.

"What?! How could you sway that!? Do you even know her?!" He asked. "No, but some girls say she is.. Say she's a bitch too.." Akari's eyes opened wide and her pupils went small as he stood up immediately. "Who cares what they s--" He cut off as he saw a really angry Akari behind the one who called Maria a bitch. She grabbed his head hard, and he yelped and put his hands where hers was. She then made him look at her. "Are you the one who just called Maria a poser and a bitch?" She asked furiously. "Y-yes..." He stuttered, afraid now. She bent down to his eye level and squeezed his head harder. "You made a big mistake then." She told him. "W-what is s-she to you?!" he asked as he stood up, slapping her hand off and looked as if he was prepared to fight. She punched him in the stomach and stayed there as he leaned over her, coughing. "She's my little sister, you asshole." She growled as she knocked him across the table. well, actually, two tables then had onto the ground. Before she could walk over and do anything else, two teachers, that were females, came and wrapped her arms around hers so she couldn't go on. "Akari! Calm down!" Ordered one. "No! I'll make him pay for what he said about my sister! He has to learn his place!" She yelled back as she fought against them, but more teachers were coming to help, and some were male, so she had to force herself to calm down.

"Miss Akari! Principal's office, now!" yelled a male teacher. Her bangs covered her eyes. "Fuck off." she told them as she stormed out of the room, not even paying attention to the gasp's and whispers behind her. That's going to get me a good long suspension.. Wonder if Maria will get pissed.. Damn, she'll probably have people talk more crap about her now.. I didn't think that through very well... Sighing, she entered onto the rooftop, walking to the middle and just sitting down, feeling the wind brush against her face and blow her hair as she began to cool down, thinking of how bad her punishment is going to be.

Ryou sighed. Why did school have to be so . . . crappy?

He sat on the roof, one leg dangled off the side while the other was settled knee-up on the edge where he sat. He was in the far corner of the roof, viewing the rest of the city below. Ryou was quite fond of heights, loved the scenary, and this was a place to think. The school faculty were too stupid to look on the roof. He was skipping his least favourite class - History - and he needed a break from all the schoolwork. It got on his nerves! And his classmates? That was just one more thing he didn't like - his preppy, jocky, idiotic classmates who acted like they knew everything and had all the power when they obviously didn't.

He raked a hand tthrough his blowing red hair, his face sedate of thought as he eyed the many buildings, estates, cars, houses, streets, trees, and roads - focusing on more important matters.

The Sohmas' are yet to be found. I've already searched half the city, and still no sign of them. They have to be hiding or going by another alias. Wouldn't I have found and killed one by now?! Ryou closed his eyes, trying to calm himself, and think more clearly. He was still angry about his ignorant classmates, but also angry at himself for not abolishing one Sohma. He knew they were in the city . . . he knew there were some in the very school he attended. But he didn't know what they looked like, or exactly who they were. Afterall, this was the first time he had been to school ever since the murder . . .
If I could just find one Sohma . . . He thought, Then the rest don't stand a chance.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps, and slowly opened his eyes to reveal turquoise waters. He turned sightly to see a pissed off black-haired, blue-eyed girl walk to the middle of the roof and sit down. Her hair danced in the wind as it blew against her, but she didn't seem to mind. She looked too busy blowing off steam.

Ryou leaned back on the back of his palms, and looked up to the bright blue sky and the shining sun. "You're cooling down too, huh?" He asked, not particularly caring nor looking at her. He was just trying to be polite, and make small talk. Perhaps even locate a Sohma or two.

His face was one of apathy, with a bit of annoyance. But not at the fact that someone else had come up on the roof - he had no care in the world about that. But the fact that he had made a promise to himself and not yet fullfilled that promise. He was annoyed at himself for not killing a Sohma. For being too ignorant that day his family was murdered. If he had striked sooner, none of it would have ever happened. But he had just stood there, like a fool, and his family had died because of him. The least he could do was revenge them by killing the Sohmas'. And it was taking too damn long to do so.

Nothing was easy. He knew that much. But he at least hoped that he would have some luck soon.

Akari sat there, glaring at the blue sky as she let off steam. Although, it wasn't really helping. The guy's words echoed in her mind. "Dude, she looks like a poser...""No, but some girls say she is.. Say she's a bitch too.."[/u] She clenched her teeth tightly as well as her fists. Who would say that about Maria?! she's perfectly nice and sure as hell isn't a poser! How dare they say that! They must be jealous of her or something, or spoke without getting to know her.. Whoever said that better hope they don't meet me... She sat there and remembered Maria telling her she could take care of herself. Maybe I shouldn't have done that.. I'll get suspended and when I tell Maria that she will not be happy probably... I really do need to think before acting.. I don't really care what they say about me, I just don't want people giving Maria crap , but it looks like that won't be avoided now.. I can guarantee the rumor has spread around the whole school already and that more than half the tables are talking about it..[/color]

Akari was so blind by her own anger she didn't even notice the boy that was also on the roof. She continued to just sit there and wallow around in her own fury to notice anything really, she barely saw the clouds around the sky and the spider that went near her, which probably would have made other girls scream like bloody murder.

Akari jumped and turned around quickly to see a boy that wasn't even looking at her. When did he get here?![/color] "Uh, yeah.. I take it you are too then.." she said, not really wanting to ask what he was mad about just in case he actually wasn't mad. "Um.. How long have you been here, exactly...?" She asked him.

Ryou saw the girl jump at his words, then turn to him from the corner of his eye.

"Uh, yeah.. I take it you are too then.."

Ryou turned to the girl, his curious, aquamarine eyes on her now. His face was somewhat amused. First she was angry and furious, and now she's innocent and shy! She sure can change her mood quickly. . .[/i] He smirked -- he found this funny. "I suppose you could say that. . . but the reality of it is that I'm skipping class." That was the truth of it, yes. Of course it was! But, as always, a footprint doesn't always equate to a boot. Ryou was secretly investagating, although he was talking pretty cassually. One of his many talents -- hiding motivations. However, having the girl here DID somewhat affect him -- he found himself just a bit happier than before. A bit happier than normal. I wonder why . . . He wondered, Perhaps because I enjoy someone else's company besides my own? . . . I suppose actual, living people are better than dead ones . . .

"Um.. How long have you been here, exactly...?"

Ryou stood up on the ledge, shoving his hands into his pockets, chuckling. "It depends on what you mean by 'here'." He was teasing. Perhaps putting on an act? Or maybe really that content. He walked, across the ledge in a graceful yet balancing way, over to the black-haired, blue-eyed girl. He stood but a few inches across from her, above her on the ledge. A charming smile crossed his features and his blue eyes sparkled just a bit as he looked down at her. "Excuse me, but I don't believe I caught your name?"

Akari looked over at him when he looked at her, but she quickly looked away. She didn't know why, but she felt embarrassed when she locked eyes with him. She hated feeling embarrassed, made her feel, like other girls which she didn't like. Especially since she knew she'd never be normal. She chuckled slightly. "Heh, I'm not too surprised. You look like the guy that would skip anyway." she said as she smiled slightly.

Akari looked over at him when he chuckled, seeing he was standing on the ledge. She rubbed the back of her head a bit. "Well, based upon that, I'll take it you've been here for awhile." She said, glancing at him as he came over to her. Now that she could see him directly, she saw he had red/brown looking hair with aqua eyes. He smiled, and she looked to the side. My name? I guess it would be polite to tell him.. "My name is Akari, Akari Sohma.. Yours?"

She looked away once he glanced at her. He chuckled. A girl had never responded to him that way before . . . however, it seemed that, right before she turned her head away, there had been the slightest bit of pink on her cheeks. He really wasn't too far away -- he heard her chuckled to herself. I wonder . . . did she really blush just now? . . [/color] He smiled to himself. Maybe she had.

She looked at him when he chuckled, rubbing the back of her head as if she was nervous. "I suppose you could say that." He concluded, seeming rather mischievous. Perhaps even mysterious. Might as well let her think that . . . The girl stared at him for a moment, looking as if she was taking his appearance in. Yet, she looked away when he smiled at her.

"My name is Akari, Akari Sohma.. Yours?"

Ryou bended over slightly, leaning in a bit on the girl's personal space. He turned her head delicately with his hand so that she faced him and locked eyes with hers. "Akari . . . Sohma?" He questioned, suspicious with a slight threat to his tone. And now his smile wasn't there anymore -- his eyes . . . not so gentle as they had been beofe. Rage burned in them, inside him, revenge even. His lips but a firm line as his grip on her tightened just a bit.

"You do realize . . . what will happen now, don't you . . . Sohma?" The icest chill in his voice; vengence it was. "My family died because of your wretched assasaint, and now you will pay the price!"
